Jonathan Chaparro leads the Chicago region of Braven- an organization with the mission of empowering promising, underrepresented young people with the skills, confidence, experience, and networks necessary to transition from college to strong first jobs. At Braven he leads regional program implementation and partner cultivation; managing innovative systemic partnerships with a wide range of education institutions and Fortune 500 companies in the area.
Prior to this, Jonathan held a variety of roles in talent acquisition, talent development, and outreach for a variety of nonprofit and corporate organizations including Teach For America, Noble Network of Charter Schools, ArcerlorMittal, and Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP. As a native of Chicago, Jonathan has also held leadership roles in the auxiliary boards of various nonprofits, including KIPP Chicago, Friends of the Parks and One Million Degrees. He also partnered with the Chicago office of McKinsey & Co to support their GetSet mentoring initiative. Previously, he also served on the Board of Directors for the Chicago Rowing Union, the Midwest’s one and only LGBTQA rowing organization. Jonathan is a 2017 Surge Institute Fellow and a 2020 Chicago Council on Global Affairs Emerging Leader. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa and a master’s from Dominican University.
