Manager of Community, Diversity and Inclusion Strategies | Rush University Medical Center

Michael Jones serves as the Manager of Community, Diversity and Inclusion strategies, in Human Resources, at Rush University Medical Center. Michael has extensive experience in leading strategic human capital management and acquisition and data-driven organizational process improvements. 

Michael is currently responsible for building-out and leading Rush’s demographic parity as it relates to local hiring initiatives; local hiring which aims to hire and retain individuals from communities that have been disinvestment throughout Chicago, primarily on Chicago’s West Side. In addition, Michael also oversees Rush’s Veterans, Individuals with Disabilities and University recruitment strategies.

In his role as a manager, Michael takes a proactive and purposeful approach to building impactful talent acquisition partnerships that add value and strategic support that will be responsible for continuing to positively impacting the organization in sourcing, hiring, monitoring and reporting of key engagement, outreach and hiring metrics. 

Michael serves as a strategic talent advisor for Solve, a Chicago-based technology firm focused on talent networks, and is an active member of the National Center for Healthcare Leadership and The Democracy Collaborative. Furthermore, Michael is continuing his civic and leadership engagement in being both a Chicago Urban League IMPACT and a Chicago United fellow. 

Michael holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Chicago and a master’s degree in Business/Corporate Communication from Northwestern University, Evanston.
