Mike is the Chief Talent Officer of the leading professional services firm in the world. He leads Talent Strategy & Operations for the “assets” of Deloitte, it’s 100,000+ people. His value proposition is unique in that he comes to the CTO role with a business background. He is a Tax Partner and CPA and has significant P&L and leadership experience. As a member of Deloitte’s Global Talent Executive Committee, he has a Global perspective on emerging talent issues. He is media savvy, having been recognized as an expert on topics including the future of work, performance management, diversity & inclusion, generations, compensation strategies, well-being and the open talent economy. During his tenure as CTO Deloitte has moved from number 97 to number 11 on Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For.
Mike is a certified public accountant who began his career with Arthur Andersen in 1979. His client service industry focus started in financial services and evolved in his 25+ years to include the professional services industry and high net worth individuals. He joined Deloitte in 2002. In his role as CTO of Deloitte, Mike reports directly to the CEO and is responsible for delivering on the organization’s value proposition to its 100,000+ professionals by fostering a development culture where leaders thrive. He has been instrumental in the development and implementation of several leading edge talent initiatives including Deloitte’s 16 week Paid Family Leave policy, The Deloitte Open Talent program and the Reinvention of Performance Management. He is a member of the U.S. Executive Committee, Global Talent Executive Committee and is the Americas region Talent Leader in addition to the US CTO. Mike actively promotes the Deloitte brand through external media interviews, presentations and appearances at numerous corporate conferences and college campuses.
