Co-Host | WBEZ Chicago - When Magic Happens Podcast

Taylor Coward is a proud Chicago native from the South Side. She is passionate about public service and has worked in government, youth social services, and currently in education, serving as a substitute teacher for Chicago’s public and private schools. Taylor holds a B.A. in English from Governors State University and leverages her passion for books and the English language to foster a love for reading and writing among the students she encounters throughout the city.

Recently, Taylor has branched out into the world of podcasting, where she co-hosts a weekly topic-based podcast called When Magic Happens for WBEZ Chicago, Chicago’s NPR news station. The show features three Black women from three different generations offering their perspectives on topics ranging from lighthearted subjects like traveling and wine to more serious matters like Black maternal health. The show holds space for women of all ages to voice their opinions and to learn from other generations in the process. Taylor functions as the show’s Gen Z perspective and hopes to use her platform to uplift other young voices and show the diversity, intelligence, and power of her generation.
